Centre for Business Consulting and Entrepreneurship, Thiagarajar School of Management, Madurai (CBCE) undertake assignments in Consultancy and Training, on issues related to management and information system for organizations in different sectors. Consultancy is treated as a critical academic activity at TSM. The insights gained from consultancy projects enrich teaching, training and research.
Management Development Programmes, In-house Training Programmes and Computer Training Programmes are also conducted.Faculty members engage in research activities, which enhance the indigenisation of professional know-how.

ecch Case Method Workshop
ecch workshop was conducted at Thiagarajar School of Management, Madurai,from 16th to 18th February, 2009. Scott Andrews and Trevor Williamson, the experienced tutors of this workshop from ecch, UK presented examples of good practice, enabling participants to adapt the method for use in their own institutions.

The former Minister of State for Communications and IT Jyotiraditya Scindia announced a major restructuring exercise of the Department of Post — involving a new logo, training of human resources and a mark up in its infrastructure with the induction of new technologies. Department of Post is undertaking Project Arrow, which is a major initiative to modernize Post offices and provide quality services to customers involving 450 offices in 12 states.
Centre for Business Consulting and Entrepreneurship (CBCE) of TSM forms a part of the training initiatives for the Central Government Project Arrow, named “Aam Aadmi” and has trained over 1550 employees of India Post on Personal Effectiveness. The trainees are Postman, Public Relation Inspectors, Postmasters, Deputy Postmasters, Assistant Postmasters and PAs from the nodal centers in the Southern part of the country. In addition, a separate training on soft skills and computer basics was organized exclusively for the Stenographers of the Department of Post.
The programmes received excellent feedback from the participants and have been reported to be successful in moulding the employees. |
