MBA Full Time Programme Contents

MBA Programme

     The 2 year programme is comprised of 4 semesters, each of about 6 months duration. In addition to class room lectures, the curriculum makes extensive use of participative methods of learning. These include case studies, buzz sessions, demoplates,
in-basket situational exercise, public interfaces, sensitivity analysis, management games, sharing of experience, group exercises, role play, panel discussion and factory visits.
     The courses are structured so as to provide students a strong foundation in functional skills. The second year focuses in training students in application of management theory to real life business. TSM will also focus on developing soft skills. The programme focuses on areas of concern to managers in the new millennium.

Summer Training

    Students are exposed to an in-company training programme spanning a 6 week period, at the end of the second semester as an integral part of the curriculum. This hands on experience enable students to acquire practical knowledge of an industry.

    Students on completion of training, submit detailed reports and make presentations to the faculty, student body and also to their organization. The training is evaluated for grades.
 

Projects

    At the end of the fourth semester, students are required to take up a six week project in their chosen area of specialization in organization.

    This is intended to be an integrative capstone course, to sharpen the analytical, conceptual and managerial skills and to help in handling problems. This activity also provides an opportunity to plan for a career. The project is evaluated both by the organization and academic body for grades.
 

Special Training

    TSM organizes Guest Lectures and Special Training programs every week using visiting professionals and also internal faculty, to focus on areas that extend beyond the prescribed syllabus. We are guided by a consultant of international repute.
 

Industry Collaboration

    TSM has a tradition of regularly interacting with industries. TSM has signed MOU with many leading organizations.
 

Other Requirements

    Besides the prescribed courses of study every candidate has to fulfill the requirements of the course such as case study, assignments, mini projects, prescribed factory visits and so forth. These activities are undertaken under the guidance of a faculty member.

    The students are also involved in both paid and voluntary assignments with the consultancy efforts of the Faculty.
